The curriculum of the Spanish Heritage Language Program (SHL) is designed for students who grew up speaking Spanish with their family and/or their community. Students explore topics related to their cultural background, and coursework is designed to help them recover and/or further develop their language abilities in Spanish through written and oral expression. We recognize, validate and study Spanish as it is spoken in the U.S. context.
